BEHIND THE LENS
John has lived in Las Vegas / Henderson, Nevada for most of his life. Born in Southern California, he moved to the area with his family at the young age of 8 years old. High School is where he found his passion, photography. During his senior year, he entered his first photo contest and won an award. His photo was displayed at the Boulevard Mall along with other winners; that was the mall to be at, at the time!
John had been shooting professionally since 1993. During that time, he excelled in the entertainment side of the business. His specialty is photographing headshots, commercial fashion, and special events. This made him a well-traveled photographer. His name is known in the arena as one of the best in the field. He would travel around the country contracted by agencies to photograph their clients. His work has been published in magazines and he also photographed the 1999 fire fighters calendar for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Las Vegas Chapter. With his love for people, he’s been photographing family portraits as well.
His passion for photography is captured in the images, as you can see. His vision through the lens has emotion and depth. You can see the expressions; the picture tells a story. His diverse ability captures the essence of the moment. He has always said, “If you know how to control the light, you can capture the moment!” He loves to work with people and loves to take photos of children. He can capture those unforgettable, spontaneous moments, like no other.
As a person, John is thoughtful of others. He has an ability to sense your thoughts. He will go out of his way to make sure you are satisfied. To him, it’s about you. He has always had this quality and that is what makes John who he is. He puts himself third on the list, God, you, and then himself.
